Start at the South side of the Wickaninnish Centre| Wickaninnish Beach

Informative plaques along the trail. | Traditional Nuu Chah Nulth Territory.

The trail begins on a pathway. | After the signpost the pathway becomes a boardwalk.

This small beach is at the beginning of the trail. | Beach treasures: rocks,
wood, shells, and seaweed

Continue on the South Beach Trail fork: the path becomes boardwalk and then stairs leading down to a very cool sandy beach. Your first glimpse of the beach will be through two sea stacks. It is beautiful and a wonderful place to picnic and watch the waves hit the rocks just off the beach.
The Wickaninnish Trail to Florencia Bay continues up a path where you get a view of the first small beach. It then becomes boardwalk and stairs travelling away from the shoreline through bog-like terrain full of interesting flora. You can see the corduroy road that connected Ucluelet and Tofino in the early days of European settlement. Must have been a rough ride! This trail is longer and takes you to Florencia Bay. It is a great trail for a long walk and can easily be done as a round-trip.
